About Me
2004 - Let me start with a little background. I’m in my late 40’s and have been in canoes since before I could walk, as have our kids. My wife and I have been married over 18 years, and I introduced her to serious paddling when we were still dating (if you want to see if a relationship will last, go paddling ;-). We sport a family of 6. We own 8 canoes (1 under construction), 4 kayaks (one under construction), and have paddled, build, repaired, altered, or modified almost every conceivable make or type of canoe on the market (barring dugouts). Several times a year we try to introduce people to the sport. I’m also a research fanatic.
Pros / The Good
Extremely well behaved. No surprises. Easy to handle. Exceptional initial stability and good secondary. Reasonably priced and great workmanship and quality materials. Tracking is above average for a touring canoe, but better than any recreational canoe I've used. In short, it is one of the best touring canoes on the market today. Rewards any skill level, just get in!
Cons / The Bad
Slow by my standards. I'm used to racing canoes, so this may not be a fair statement. The portage thwart gets uncomfortable on long hauls. Aside from that, I can't think of anything else to complain about...and this is based upon years of heavy seasonal use.
