my 2 cents. Way too much rocker. It will be tough to initiate into blunts, or loops if it were a holeboat. The boat will just blast all the time. In addition, easier to get rail-to-rail bounces if you have a edge near the bow that will actually make contact w/ the water when the boat is but up on edge as it drives down the face of the wave. It's pretty crucial for snappy blunts.

we kept the same rocker shape, but took the point off the bow. does it look like this is enough of a change to keep the boat from blasting all the time and make blunts a little more snappy?

starting to look pretty sweet guys you could cut more vol out in certain areas of the deck leaving you with foot bumps but a slightly slicier bow to make cart wheel type moves and intiating loops etc easier.

For surfing i personally prefer the tri fin set up have used both systems and its more versitile as if you put three fin boxes in you can move the fins to suit the conditions run either a single centre fins for a looser carving boat, twin fins for a loose but tighter carving or tri fin to give more grip crisper tuns.

for a proto type you coiuld try placing different fin boxes in the hull to find out which you prefer and then make the second boat with that fin set up

According to this, in theory, if we just do 2 fins near the rails we could have a loose boat that carves only when on edge? is that true? that sounds like what we would b going for in our boats. that way we could side surf a hole without a problem while still having good tracking on a wave.

i persoally wouldnt use fins on ariver but each to their own big wave yes can see the advantage hole makes no sense!

as long as the fins are positions under your ass or close to it will make the boat spin. that said ive spun my surf boat with 4/12 inch fins right back in the boxes still goes but needs speed why not put several boxes into your first prototype get some riot fins or wake fins and experiment most people prefer them in different places
