Today is the big water event on the Ottawa, cool. We are competing on the "Big Kahuna" which is a full on, hard to control, fast flushy, or trashy wave, depending upon your timing. It could produce some big moves!

In colorado, 3,500 km away, Kristine, Jay Kincaid, Clay, Stephen and more are helping the CKS crew sell boats on their big event.

Good luck on the wave. Which of your boats would you think a big man should use? I am mostly a wave person but all the rivers here in Ohio are mostly a mile inbetween rapids?

There is a discussion on the pricing policy of Jakson kayaks in the UK (and why it is so disproportunate to that of the US pricing polocy). I would get in there and defend yourself if I was you. You don't want Jakson kayaks to become the next seven2* of the uk now do you?

yes EJ is a great paddler, but when you consider that the most common hype among manufacturers is "look how many medals we won because our boats are cool" it must be pointed out when people in said boats don't do so well either. but definitely yes, congrats to Dane.

Just because he is a great paddler does not mean that he is some how untouchable and cannot be critized. Jackson Kayaks spins a lot of BS with their products, thats a fact. Not being able to critize anyone better than you is rediculous. Some people think that Pres. Bush should not be critized because he is the President. Everyone should critize him so he is a better president. Same with EJ. Maybe if he tells the truth about his product or makes his product according to his truth, then I would still own a Jackson Kayak.

Does anyone know who has been dominating comps in the us? PEOPLE in jackson kayaks. Even Micheal jordan had a bad game or two.

sounds like you had a really bad experience with a jackson kayak, bummer, all mine have been excellent. What sort of BS are you refering to, all company psych up there products calling them better thatn every body elses, i assume this isnt what your talking about.

So a Jackson wasn't right for you, boo hoo. Go buy something else. If you don't like EJ, who cares. It doesn't make him any less a class act, on and off the water.

I for one appreciate how open and forthcoming EJ is about is boats, business, personal life. It's refreshing. I much prefer it to the (one website update per year ) approach by Dagger. Dagger makes a great boat, but their PR sucks.

I suggest we all check our heads and egos, before kayaking starts turning into surfing or snowboarding. A bunch of ego driven, up yours attitude, punks. ( I do both, and hate the vibe in the water and on the slopes)

I honestly don't hate Jackson kayak. I own 2 of them. I have had a fun 1.5, star and 2 fun. I have better experience than many of you. I have used all 3 of thier different types of outfitting. I got my first loops in a star. I think Jackson are great boats, I don't think that they are the be all end all boats tho'. Their backband in their new boats breaks and slips. When they got their new Boat Armour they said boats were 10-15% faster. These numbers mean nothing. Then I was told that with the new outfitting the boats were fastert than the project. That is complete BS. Jackson acts as if their product is somehow magically better. I dislike that. I want manufacters to tell me that they have a good product, then let me decide if it is the best for me. EJ's ego is a problem. I have spent hours with him in skill clinics. I like EJ, honestly.
Now you may think, what is my problem, if I like the boats?

I don't like the Jackson or nothing attitude. OMG Ej and other of the best paddlers placed top in the ratings. Make a post and say that the Star series is the best boat known to man. That ignorance bothers me.

OMG Ej placed 22nd the star series suck..... I didn;t see a post like that from any one who prefers another boat. Yappa did well, he paddles Bliss Stick.

The go buy another boat attitude sucks too. I'm trying to improve the company because I like them. If i wanted them to dig their own grave I wouldn't say anything.

I have better experience than many of you with JK kayaks and with EJ himself, please don't be ignorant and tell me I don't know anything. BTW, I think the boat names are kinda lame.

[mail address protected from spambots with javascript] . He has responded to every email I have ever sent. The fact that you are publicly venting, only proves that you have an agenda to slander them. Why, I don't know. Maybe EJ rubbed you the wrong way at a clinic, or maybe you don't like the fact that a short guy like EJ can throw down way bigger tricks than you. I really don't know. For every hater like you, there are thousands more that love their boats. The backband is fine, the boats names are irrelevant. The problem is not the boats, it's you and your attitude.

That said, you're a kayaker, so I have to love you man!

you all are like you are just jealous, blah blah blah, their boats suck, blah blah blah, I cant loop a jackson, wah wah, Gimme a break. I personally dont care what kind of a person EJ is, that has no effect on what kind of boats he designs, at least he is out there doing it, while we are all in here wishing we could be in the same place.

I have never paddled a jackson, but they obviously can perform, but so can Dagger's, Necky's, LL's, Wavesport's, Fluid, Bliss-stick, blah blah blah...

Man, I hate the internet. The fact that you can argue without meeting someone is stupid. I think I'll just enjoy my boats. By the way, Squirt boating is awsome you should check it out. I've been doing attainments in my Squirt and enjoying not having to wait in lines for crappy playspots. Eddylines are everwhere. Also, very nice to surf on speedy waves.
