Difficult choise you have to make! Can't help you on that!

I have both and to be honest, they are two different kayaks.

The Element is awesome in the ocean and really in its element on green waves. It surf and carves beautifully! The edges is something to get use to in the beginning, it has a small learning curve, but not too difficult. Downriver the Element is a bit strenuous to handle due to the edges and short narrow stern, but also not a mission to get use to. As long as its high volume your paddling you’ll be fine, the Element does not respond very well to rocks in its path.

The Nemesis on the other hand is great on the river, it runs difficult stuff easily and is super in holes. It handles easily and plays easily. In the ocean the Nemesis tend to become a bit slow, but if you catch a wave right you can get some huge air.

My advice would be to get both, but if you have to choose one, good luck!

I've had (and still have) both the Nemesis and Element since they came out. They are two very different boats. The Element on a river will be a real dog. On a rocky river, even a very advanced paddler is going to struggle... If you are going to do rivers too, then get the Nemesis. But the Element rocks in the waves, and you cannot even compare the two... The difference is greater than mountain bike versus road bike in my opinion. I almost never take my Nemesis into the waves. And I love my Element in the ocean
