You should jump into a Fluid Element (freestyle surf kayak) and test it out. You'll never look back.... ;)

If you are thirteen and you get a star and grow alot more which you probably will it won't fit you but in saying that it should last you 3-4 years and you may want to upgrade then. Also i would go for the 2007 first because they will start to come around second had alot more now that the 2010 model is out. They will also become cheaper and as you will be towards the beginnner end of the scale you will most likely not notice a difference between the new and the old model so theres not much point in spending the extra cash purely just for the novelty of having the 2010 one because the 2007 one rocks!!

Also if you are looking for a playboat there are some other great ones out there like the wavesport project!!! Although the jackson outfitting it by far the comfiest i have ever tried!!!!!

ye ive tried the wavesport project and i didnt really like it that much and the 45 was a bit tite while the 54 ( i think the next size up is ) was to big i agree with u saz as thats exactly what i though when the new star came out and im not quite pro yet, i had a look at the element as on a wave it looks amazing but none of my local dealers in south wales have it so i cant demo it. and im not sure wether to just take the plunge and buy 1 my only concern with the star is how long it will fit me but i think swansea canoes have a demo 1 so might see if i can get up there

If you found the project 45 a bit tight I'd imagine you'll find the same with a star, they are relatively similar sized... definitely don't splash out any cash til you've tried one. (I have owned both, and currently paddling a project)

Hey bud, I dont think changing boats will help much, The ZG is quite a slicey boat so should be a good boat to learn to cartwheel in. I remember it being very frustrating to learn the cartwheel it takes time but with good techinque and practise it will come (its raining in Swansea so the weirs may be paddleable this week fingers crossed)
