What creeker do you recommend 16 years 3 weeks ago #25830

Hey guys I am about 6' 170 with gear on. I am wanting to get your opinions on what creek boat to buy. I just sold my Habitat 74. I have been considering a Nomad 8.1/8.5. Probably going to go with the 8.5 if I get it.

Basically, what do you think? The only cons that I hear about on the Nomad is that it is a little long, soft plastic, and it doesn't eddy very well. Any other boats I should look at?

Hey Josh, now If all that is true about the Nomad, which I'm sure it isn't, why would you even consider it as a choice? It also sounds like you haven't demoed one so I would probally start there. You can tell right away if it is slow and a pig on eddylines.

Now of course I am bias but in my opinion and really mean this, there is not a better creeker on the market today than the Bliss-Stick "Mystic" . You will please notice that I did not say it was the best..... just none better.

Good to be able to Take your time and demo.

I currently paddle a nomad, and it is brilliant, Although the plastic is possibly not the best on the market, it is fast and stable. we are in the market for another kayak because me and my father only have one big water boat between us, and it looks like we might end up with a mystic, because i have heard nothing but good reviews and we want something a little different than a nomad.

Demo a large (or maybe even a medium) Fluid Solo. I've been paddling the large for almost 2 years now, really love the boat and have clocked up many river miles! Yes, I'm also biased. :)

Try the Mystic. I haven't tried it, but it looks cool, and the quality of Bliss Stick boats is also great.

Just curious, why did you sell the Habitat?

Honestly there is no real reason why I sold my Habitat other than I just wanted to paddle something different this year. The Habitat never let me down and was the easiest boat that I have ever rolled. I had the 74 and wanted just a little more volume. I have not demoed the Mystic but if it is anything like the scud then it is awesome. I demoed the nomad on flat water only and really liked the way the 8.5 handled better than the 8.1. Just felt more stable. I am wanting something that eddies and boofs well. I have never looked at the Fluids. I will definitely do that. You guys have been great!

Have a couple dozen "big ones" sitting in the garage. Waiting until they become a clasic before I sell them. Sort of like the re-release of the RPM!

Nomad is a sick creekboat. The plastic of mine has held up fine after a year of rockbashing. It catches eddy's fine. And has one of the best bows that can both punch and go over. I have paddled it on class V from 100CFS to 45,000 CFS and it has yet to let me down. If my 8.1 broke, I would probably go out and buy a 8.5 that day.
