Help ! Back stops play :-( 17 years 2 weeks ago #21288

Can anyone help me ?

I have paddled CC Kayaks for about 20 years now and loved every minute. But a recent back problem has stoppped me in my tracks. With 4 degenerating disks and 1 dehydrated disk in my lower back, I am in agony when I paddle CC kayaks. I have tried a variety of high and low volume boats with different back rest systems but to no avail.

I would have thought the next route would be C1 but im rather retisent to give up one blade !

Does anyone have any good advice ?

give it a go but you might find that it will put even more pressure on you're back because your still in a posistion where it can be afected. Also rolling a c1 might hurt you're back even more.

just a thought

Thanks. To be honest the change from two blades to one does freak me out a bit. I feel much more in control with two. But ill give it a go. A few friends are C1 paddlers and ill ask them first. But I was hoping someone out there had a similar experience to me and could provide a solution to continue paddling with two blades !
