What is the fun like to play in on moving water and flat water compared to a full on play boat?

And how much easyer is it to run rivers in it compared to a full on playboat?

on a wave you can do a lot of the same moves but it's harder. The fun is better for river-running and can play nicely if you already know some moves. Speaking from experience: I moved from a 4fun to a Project 52, and running the river is completely different. The 4fun is very stable and you can get put through some pretty big stuff. If you really want to play, get a playboat, if you want to run class IIIs and up and still be able to surf and play some, then the Fun is for you. As a beginner playboater it's tough for me to throw the fun around and with the local river only reaching a class III the 4fun was not a good match for what I wanted. I'm much happier with a boat that will is more suited to elevate my playboating techniques.

Keep in mind, that if your learning to cartwheel, bowstall, etc. it's easier to learn in a small boat as it is easier to sink and throw around in the water.

Kinda hard to understand that last post of yurs there... but I'll try my best to respond.

Well kinda sounds like you really want to learn to playboat. As long as you feel competent on grade three, then your fine with a playboat on it. But lemme put it this way.. remember the first or second time you paddled a grade three, you got tossed around, nearly rolled, and were nervous?? well for the first few runs the playboat will feel like that. You definately get tossed about. So: If you pick a boat for river running so you can run grade threes there is a chance for you to get bored as you progress your river-running skills. The small playboat will definately keep you interested. I was on some Class II-III today in my project and it's more fun than I had ever had in my 4Fun. :side:

You could always hold out for a boat like the wavesport FUSE, which is a true playboat/river-runner cross... and There's a bunch of boats that can run rivers and play well. So.. I would DEMO DEMO DEMO and DEMO again until you find a boat that will fit your style and make your soul sing.
