I have a small solo on the way to missoula this week. Should I be worried about bow and stern pillars blowing out if I pin?

No, you don't need to worry. The boat was designed to be strong and that should naturally be a major design consideration in any creek boat and certainly was when Celliers designed the Solo. :cheer:

I would say that there would be more chance that a foam pillar (in any boat) has a higher chance of being blown out as the attachment to the boat isn't as robust as a plastic pillar. ;)
