I just received this choice SPAM addressed to an email address unique only to playak and not publicly visible. It suggests the playak database has been misappropriated.

please send me a pm with the email address of the spammer. the addresses are not passed on to any thrid parties by me, and they are not visible (although you could choose to have them in/visible in the old playak system, with was in use until 2005).

the only way people can send mail to that address is by filling out a -send e-mail' form through your profile, and they must be registered to do that. but even then, they won't see your address.

anyway, if that's what happened, i'll ban the user who did it immediately.

There are always mails for viagra, steriods, helping some dude in Nigeria get his money out that he has but cannot get to because of a long sob story etc.

Ion: Like I said, it probably has nothing to do with Playak, IMO. That means, in my opinion. I'm an engineer and know nothing about the intricacies of e-mail/internet etc. :grin:

Hence the grin too. But thank you for pointing that out. Perhaps you should have contacted Jeroen direct and not made a public announcement which invites discussion, and more importantly, opinion ;-)
