Hello all,

Can any one offer a little help in my decision making. I have paddled the ZG and I like the fitting but the Rad looks to have similar fittings, and I have found one that is new and being sold at €799 compared to €950 I was getting for the ZG. The money is one factor but I would appreciate anyone that has had a go in both to offer a little advise.

I am 6'2 and around 80kg.

I have also done the coomparison between the boats on this site.

Hi I paddle a RAD 175 and they are sweet boats, but saying that I have never paddled a wavesport. But the RAD will do anything you want it to, and they look good too

I've got a ZG54. Good boat. I'm about 85 kg. Wish it it had a little more volume sometimes but otherwise it's all good. Never even seen a RAD as I live at the far end of earth. :-)

Do a search on the forums for the ZG and RAD. You'll find a couple of previous posts... I reckon both are good

They're both really nice boats. I own a RAD175 and have paddled ZGs.

You should be able to get a spin in a RAD fairly easily. Ireland is littered with them… Check with clubs in your area.

Thanks guy, I got a RAD to Demo this weekend. Going to Franc in May, so I want to choose boat for that as well. I like that the RAD has more volume in the front and the tail is wide so I won't be tail squirting unintentionally. However the fitting of the ZG is quite sweet. Decisions:think:

Dillo,
trying to make a similar decision myself.
A RAD 195 or WS EZG 60.
Let us know how you decide and how things go.
(Also, was that ZG new? If so, where were you getting it for €950)

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful.
Looking for something river/play. (And before anyone suggests it, I've already looked on the kayak database)
At this stage, I've looked at so many different boats on the internet, I'm completely confused.

Robert

The RAD and EZG are fairly different boats. In my opinion, if you want a river running boat, go for the EZG. I've got the EZG 60 and I love it! Awesome running river, I can still flat water loop it and still cartwheel all day and get some air on bigger waves.

Went for a paddle yesterday. We were lucky to have a public holiday on a Wednesday. Woo hoo... Check out these 2 pics.

The RAD would be an awesome playboat, no doubt. Just not as good a river runner.

the rad is an excellent river runner as well as play boat but try them both and see for your self. I think that the rad is way more comfyt than any ws boat

it's the best. Long lenth for speed to boof drops and punch holes. No edges so it's a breeze in boily water lots of volume to keep you on the surface when you need to whateva dude. it may run rivers but it's far from 'ecellent'

Have a look at the gear for sale. I am selling a brand new set of Werner Twists. They haven't even been baptised yet.
