Corran surfs some pretty decent waves in the DVD, End Game. Does anybody else have any other cool pics?

Ah, I can't wait now. My winter season is almost here, so that means rain AND awesome swell for the Cape Town region. Happy days ;)

surfkayaks...definetly! I'm now waiting for the new pics of Nathan in Ecuador and Peru and I think that we'll have another big surf sessions... with kayaks or waveskis!

I know there was an article a few years ago, ok maybe like 5 years ago of a group surfing mavricks, it was in a playboating mag, they all got torn up but loved it.

The biggest waves I can recall a kayaker surfing is on Lindgren's DVD "Aerated" - with Rusty Sage and co. tearing it up in Indonesia.

As for Kayaking big waves, I reckon it really has to be a specific type of wave - something slow breaking and powerful - it can't be too steep.
An example of difficult big wave would be Teahupoo (Chopu) on a big day, Kayakers have surfed it before but it was by no means breaking at the size the above video is showing (which is actually still small for Chopu), the take off is just way too steep.
I stand to be corrected but the day a kayaker surfs Chopu on a big day and doesn't get seriously hurt, is the day i'll eat my words B)

I think Chopu is only usually about 1m deep :angry: Not for me thanks. That could kill you, and people have died surfing there already..... I would love to see someone try surf that thing. It would require someone pretty special, no doubt.

Big waves demand a special boat. Although I charged some sick waves today, and the Fluid Element worked just fine. Check out the picture below. Click on this link for a big version.

Good times. Just a pity it was super early, bad light with cloud cover. But I was all alone. No one else out. Good times! I'm looking forward to seeing more action of people charging cool waves. I'll definitely keep charging. Today was our first day of better swell... Winter is coming!! WOO HOO! :)
