I am planing to teach a white water kayak course this summer. I assume it will be for beginners, just standard things about the boats and gear, reading rivers, swimming, etc, etc.
Do you guys know of some good and free teaching material on the subject?

Not free, but I would check out the SWR manual by Slim Ray and Charlie Walbridge, and Kayak by William Nealy. Most of your things should be covered. Paddling.net has some free info under articles -> Guidelines.

Thanks for the pointers.
I intend this material I seek for a handout to students. Ideally I would like to give out Kayak by Nealy, but as much as I love the book I don't think I will buy a copy of each student :)

the BCU has a lot of downloads on it's website, maybe they have what you're looking for.
