Hello Fellow Paddlers,
I want let you know about an upcoming paddling event I’m involved in, Paddle with a Purpose-Fight Lung Cancer with LUNGevity. On Saturday, September 12, we will paddle 8 miles down the pristine Whitewater River in our canoes and kayaks to raise funds for lung cancer.

We’ll drop off our boats at the Green Acres put-in on Pinhook Road and park at the take-out on Suspension Bridge Road. (Shuttle from parking spot to your boat provided) After following the river to the take-out at Green Acres Canoe and Kayak Rental in West Harrison, we’ll enjoy festival fun! Some of you are familiar with Jerry Heyob’s and my camp on the Whitewater; which we will pass right by during the trip!

You can add to the day’s fun by participating in the John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run, similar to a traditional motorcycle poker run with a twist, which we’re holding in memory of my friend and uncle, John Kroemer who lost his battle to lung cancer when he was just 32 years old.

Proceeds for the event benefit LUNGevity Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding lung cancer research and to providing support to those affected by lung cancer. LUNGevity is the fastest growing charity in America, and it’s because of supporters like you! And hey, if we can do what we love, all the while supporting an amazing cause, everyone’s happy!
