I'm looking for any advice or recommendations for a playboat. I have been paddling a touring boat for more than a year now, tried whitewater for the first time last year and got hooked. I'm 5' 10" 190 pounds.

Thanks,
Jeff

If they are available in your area have a look at some of the Fluid kayaks. If you are looking for something that will allow you to play a bit and run rivers have a look at the Fuid Spice for your length and weight the Medium Spice will be good. It has decent length which makes it a bit faster than your standard play boat so river running is a breaze. I have a large spice that I use as my river/creeking kayak, on big enough features you can do all the basic freestyle moves, the boat will be a bit slow for big combo moves. I have paddled the medium quite a bit as well (used to run kayak schools) and it is really good fun. Your other option for a play/river runner is the Fluid Flirt this was the original fluid playboat. It is a bit wider and longer than the Nemesis (top notch play boat) which makes it a bit easier to keep upright when running more difficult stuff. If you are just looking for a playboat then you will not be dissapointed with the Nemesis.
If you ever end up in South Africa drop in and we can take you on some of our local runs.
