Shot Sleeve Dry Top 17 years 7 months ago #18593

I just started paddling this summer and I am looking for a dry top for this upcoming winter season. I know for sure I am going to go with a short sleeve top, and one that comes in size small. What companies out there should I check out? Immersion Research has two pretty cool short sleeve dry tops that look reliable, the Stohlquist SWICX is good looking (but they don't make small anymore), and a local paddling shop has a Lotus Designs that fits pretty good (but I am worried that if something were to happen to it, it may not be under warranty). Is there any other companies that make short sleeve tops I should check out?

Check out Palm:

and also Kokatat:
www.kokatat.com/products.asp

I'm not actually sure if Kokatat do a short sleeved top. It doesn't look like it but I recently got the Rogue and it's the best jacket I've ever bought by far.

I've also got a Palm Extrem long sleeved top and a Palm short sleeved. Both gave me excellent service. The short sleeved I'm still using.

I hope that helps a little. Kokatat is made in the USA and pretty expensive but damn good quality and like I always say, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. ;) Good luck.

Also check out Level 6:

I've heard they're good too.

Thanks a lot for the info...I really like the Level Six stuff. Does anyone know the quality/reliability of their gear?

My wife has a level 6 shortsleeved dry top, that a larger buddy borrowed and did some surfing, etc.
The top didn't stretch or anything.

All the Palm shorties are sweet, but be prepared to cough up :2cents:

The IR shorty rocks! Love the neo neck, arm and tunnel with just a thin latex seal. Really comfortable.

I have a palm sidewinder shorty, it is totally superior to any other short sleeved cag I have tried, but the price reflects that :( It does come in this fetching shade of safety orange though!
