But you're right, most injuries need rest before you can actually work on different techniques etc. to prevent those injuries from happening again.
Basically, if it hurts, stop. It may look like you're a tough cookie to keep on going but unless there's a life involved, getting rest and work on a cure allows you to enjoy paddling a lot longer
