Volvo Final Leg
Racing down the Bay of Finland bound for St Petersberg . I ran agriund while sleeping and it will cost me some positions getting off and around the point. Less than 140 miles to the finish and it is slow going into the wind with numerous tacks required. A narrow channel with little wind and lots of places to run aground. This is the most demanding leg yet and I am glad it is short. This will finish my second virtual circumnavigation of the world since November 08.

Comment by Greg Loftus ( Cominco) on June 30, 2009 at 7:20pm - I was pleased as I improved greatly with each leg of the volvo and considering in the Vendee the first few weeks I could not sail downwind due to a computer glitch. It is a tiring game demanding 24/7 attention if you hope to do well. Next Vendee is 2112 and the Vlovo is in 2 years I think. Greg
