Official Volvo Ocean race is over, Congratulations to Power of 7 the virtual winner ,well done

Leg nine was the Final leg that officially ended the race. Leg ten is a victory lap and for fun but you can still win it. This race completed my second virtual circumnavigation of the globe and it was a lot of fun. I came 22,242 out of over 200,000 virtual sailors. At the end of leg one I was closer to 30,000th and so over the legs my skill increase enough that at present I am listed as 14,995th overall throughout the race.
There are other races starting and they are fun however after manning the virtual helm since November 2008, a break is in order. Summer and paddling is here and I have real sails on real boats to occupy me until winter. I look forward to the Vendee in 2012 as it was my prefered race of the two. I sailed the Vendeeglobe , the race of races in the world of sail racing. This is a solo, non stop, no asistance race andd took me 98 days to complete, I checked my progress on computer every two hours for the entire time . I also started the Volvoocean around the same time amd ran both races until the Vendee was complete. I hope to attend the start of the next Vendee globe in France in 2012.
Anyone that can race a 60 foot boat around the world alone as fast as possible deserves heaps of respect and to those hat try hats off as well as most are defeated by equipment failure and fate and withdrawing must be the hardest decision that they will ever make.
