New Years Eve free swim

Running the Paddlers for Parts Association can keep a guy fairly busy and we think it is worth the effort. Last evening we held our 8th Annual New years swim and it was a great success. I have yet to recieve the total head count but I will get it over the next couple of days. We have roughly 80 signatures in the guest book and there were lots of folks to shy to sign.
The event as a whole went very well and we managed to handout quite a few Organ / Tissue donor cards and we feel that one signed donor card makes the whole event worth while.
The staff of the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool did a wondeful job and handed out partyhats, glowsticks and noise makers, great fun for the kids. All the helium filled balloons found new owners at the end of the evening and everyone appeared to head home happy.
The Paddlers for Parts Association would like to Thank Papa Jims Pizza for the very generous donation of pizza for the swimmers. This was a surprise contribution and everyone appreciated it very much. I will be sending them a proper thank-you in the next few days.
We had well over 100 people join us for the dip and this was great, the Paddlers look forward to doing it again next New Years Eve as well.

The Paddlers next schedule event is the Reel Paddling Film Festival which we will host April 10th. 2010. One of our favourite events as it puts everyone into paddle mode for the summer. Ciao. Greg
