the worldwide paddling community

For many that may seem the normal thing, but in Yellowknife we usually don't see this till late April or early May. I realize for some it may shorten their seaonal employment but I am not one of these and will gladly bask in the warmth all day.

Spring is usually when we have our snowmobile races and the first races of the season have cancelled due to warm weather making conditions unsuitable for racing. The cold is bound to return but in the meantime I will soak it up.

I started selling tickets today for the Reel Paddling Film Festival which we will hold on April 10th. Should this weather keep up we could lose our shirts as everyone that would attend will be paddling. I have to fill in the posters and start placing them around town which takes a while. Our spring film festival usually means we will soon be in the water, not walking on it.

Is there much snow on the ground or is most of it usually melted? Please do not say that it varies and could be anything, because that much is obvious.
