False springs are hard on a fellow

The last for days in Yellowknife have been way above the seasonal norm and have us dreaming of open water. I of course know that there is 5 feet of ice over the lake and all the rivers are frozen solid.The only open water around here is on Jackfish lake where they draw water for cooling the generating plant. The temperatures are warm enought hat I anm tempted to haul a yak out there and give it a go. There is about a 15 meter hole and the power corp would probably frown upon me rolling away in the hole. I know that the snow moblie crowd is fond of jumping this on their machines and for a ski doo this a small patch of water. One of the local companies uses this whole for training folks in ice rescue so they can work on the ice road. Once the dry suit arrives I may give it a shot anyway. Dreaming of spring sun and wamth and all that goes with it. Cheers, Greg
