I managed to paddle for about 90 minutes today and it was great. Not enough wind to make much use of the sail but I popped it up anyhow and you could feel the tug. A about 10 kph more wind and we would have had a nice smooth ride. I am glad that summer is finally arriving as I was beginning to wonder if she was planning on putting in an appearance.
I managed to squeeze in a short bike ride and knock off 24,000 steps on my Trans Canada Virtual walk as well. I had to attend a Celebration of Life today for our friend Finn Hansen as he passed away last Wednesday. Finn died of natural causes at a ripe old age and went fairly fast unfortunate but, best in the long run. I will think of him often and fondly for I had the pleasure of his company for many a year and he is not easily forgotten.
The NWT rivers are flowing at least the southern ones and slowly warming up. I have yet to hit the white water this season and that is coming up shortly. I have lost the use of the beach in front of my place as there are some renos taking place, to bad as it was a perfect spot for putting my squirt boat in to practice. Stll a minor problem and I think I may have found a new launch pad already.
I am in the last 80 miles of the Volvo ocean leg nine and should finish in Stockholm sometime around 10 AM local time.
